Our Mission
The GCC is home to over 10 million expatriate workers from across the world — from the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Egypt, the UK, and dozens more countries. These workers fuel the Gulf's economy, building its cities, running its hospitals, coding its software, and serving its guests.
Yet access to basic financial information — What gratuity am I owed? Am I being paid fairly? How much will my UAE visa cost? — has historically been scattered across legal documents, government websites in Arabic only, or locked behind paid legal consultations.
ExpactCalc changes that. We believe every worker, regardless of language or background, deserves to understand their rights and know their numbers.
How Our Calculators Work
Every formula we use is sourced directly from the official text of each country's labour law:
- UAE: Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 (Article 51 for gratuity)
- Saudi Arabia: Labour Law Article 84
- Kuwait: Labour Law Article 51 (Law No. 6 of 2010)
- Qatar: Labour Law Article 54 (Law No. 14 of 2004, as amended 2020)
- Bahrain: Labour Law for the Private Sector (Law No. 36 of 2012)
- Oman: Labour Law Article 39 (Royal Decree No. 35 of 2003)
All calculations run entirely in your browser using pure JavaScript. Nothing is sent to our servers. Your salary data never leaves your device.
Why We're Free
ExpactCalc is supported by Google AdSense advertising — the same model used by most major free websites. When you visit our pages, you'll see contextually relevant ads. The calculators themselves are, and will always remain, completely free to use with no registration required.
Why Four Languages?
We chose English, Arabic, Tagalog/Filipino, and Hindi/Urdu deliberately:
- English serves the 3+ million non-Arab expats across GCC, and is the business language of the region.
- Arabic serves both GCC nationals and the ~5 million Arab expats (Egyptians, Jordanians, Lebanese, Syrians, etc.) who have historically had almost no quality Arabic financial tools available.
- Filipino/Tagalog serves the ~2.5 million OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) who are the #1 or #2 expat nationality in UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Filipino expats deserve tools in their own language.
- Hindi serves India's ~2.5 million UAE expatriates (the single largest nationality) plus Pakistan's ~1.5 million in Saudi Arabia.
